I thought I had seen everything but when I saw ads for “GCB” I looked into what it was about.
The new ABC show–what other network would do this?–debuts in March as a comedy about Christian churchgoers who are really bitches out to get an old friend who returns to the community.
Hollywood is obsessed with Christians whom they deem hypocritical and is determined to expose them. Yet they won’t pay any attention to the numerous Christians who do good works and are decent people.
Of course, the latter does not make for an interesting show.

But a show about women scheming can be made without castigating a whole religion.
Can you imagine a show called Good Jewish Bitches? Or Good Muslim Bitches? Or even Good Lesbian Bitches? I don’t think calling them GJB, GMB or GLB, respectively, would lessen the protests.
Then again I can’t see any of those shows making next season’s schedule.
But this goes to show what is wrong with liberals in the entertainment industry. They have no respect for the majority of people in this country and they want to shove down our throats their anti-religious, specifically anti-Christian, agenda–at all costs.
I read the review in Entertainment Weekly which quotes one of the actors, Leslie Bibb, as saying:
This show shines a light on people who say, ‘I go to church every Sunday, I’m a God-fearing person.’ [Good Christian Bitches] is like, ‘Hey, y’all, let’s just look at what’s really going on.’
So we need a TV program to have a goal of exposing Christian hypocrites? This is a far cry from the wholesome entertainment that Hollywood produced decades ago. And the reality is we are all sinners so why target catty Christian women–and admittedly some exist–and not some other group?
In fact, what about exposing gays who frequent bath houses and the like, seeking sodomy with strangers? That has implications for public health and could be just as interesting as GCB claims it will be.
Or how about a show about the Obama White House showcasing his many apologies to other nations, his inability to govern, his failure to fix the economy and his choices to golf rather than go to church? We had the West Wing so why not a timely show about our incompetent leader?
Heck, another show with an agenda could be liberal college professors trying to brainwash hapless students. Not only is this true, it is a serious problem where conservative students are at an academic disadvantage due to liberal intolerance.
So many shows that could have a legitimate agenda but which would not serve Hollywood elitist misconceptions about the real problems in society! Gossiping church women are at the top of the list of cultural problems we have today. Hollywood, spot on as usual.
In reality, these cowards just like to take potshots at their perceived enemy–Christians.
May all of us who are Christians refuse to watch the show and may all people of goodwill join us and not be fooled by the shortened name of GCB.

There was recently a study done on who watches what type of programming. Those who consider themselves liberal tend to watch more comedies than conservatives. Of course, when the study came out, late night comedians had a ball poking fun at conservatives for having no sense of humor. In reality, I think we don’t like to be insulted by juvenile behaviour or have our morals consistently offended. I recently have been culling sit-coms from my viewing habits and will continue to do so. Murder mysteries, ‘reality’ challenge programs (like The Amazing Race), home repair programs, and cooking programs are getting more of my viewing. I’m not the only person doing this. I also know of some Nielsen families that are doing the same.
I haven’t watched a sit-com on NBC in years and recently stopped watching ABC’s Modern Family. I think Ed O’Neill is a brilliant actor, but I don’t think having a 2 year old utter four letter words is cute one bit. ABC can rest assured that I won’t be watching anything entitled “Good Christian Bitches”. Thank you for the forewarning about this drivel.

typical Hollywood. I’m done with them. When we move, I’ll not be paying for cable. So done with subsidizing garbage.
