Liberals Don’t Believe in Free Speech: The Chick-fil-A Example

07/28/2012

When I don’t like the politics of a business, I don’t shop there. For example, designer Kenneth Cole has a history of pro-abortion and other liberal advertisements to promote his brand. It is not that he is just giving money to promote the death of babies, but he is using it to sell his clothes!

That’s obnoxious.

No one criticizes him for that.

But when Chick-fil-A, a chain of fast-food chicken restaurants, reiterated its position in favor of real marriage–you know between a man and a woman–liberals flipped out. Chick-fil-A also closes on Sunday and gives back to the community. They take their Christianity seriously.

If one is anti-Christian or a homosexual who is intolerant or both, then one does not have to eat at Chick-fil-A. But liberals lie when they claim to support free speech. They boycott, they complain, they demand repentance!

The mayor of Chicago, a crony of President Obama, said Chicago does not share the company’s pro-marriage beliefs. Considering the economic turmoil, the violence and the general disorder of the once-great city, you would think he would encourage a family-friendly franchise that provides jobs and social stability. But he is a hack Democrat who irrationally promotes the liberal agenda at the expense of his own city.

It is bad enough that liberal activists–especially the hypersensitive homosexuals–do not tolerate opposing viewpoints, but we do not need public officials disregarding the First Amendment.

Christians, who are technically the majority, had better wake up and support the few brave businessmen who are willing to tell the truth, facing ridicule, boycotts and condemnation.

What is wrong with us that we say nothing? I give credit to our evangelical friends who are supporting Chick-fil-A. And I am sure they have a great product!

While we say nothing and do nothing–shame on us conservatives who are inherently less vocal than carping leftists–events are planned to intimidate this poor company. Homosexual activists–who claim they want tolerance but fail to tolerate Christianity–plan a kiss-in this Friday at Chick-fil-A stores.

If you don’t like something, do what I do and protest with your dollars. Shop elsewhere. Write a letter. Don’t stick your tongue down the throat of your same-sex lover to show your outrage. Isn’t there a bathhouse for that?

Since clearly this is a violation of free speech to intimate these good people, liberals instead denounce this Christian viewpoint as bigotry. If we disagree that two men should get married, that makes us bigots. If they don’t believe in our views which have anchored civilization for over 2000 years, we don’t call them bigots although that is exactly what they are. Intolerant and hypocritical.

They project onto us what they are and, with the support of the media, they attack until they get their way.

We have to draw a line in the sand. Support Chick-fil-A by eating there and contacting them to show approval of their position. Write letters to the editor.

Fellow Christians, every time we stay silent, and they gain ground, we are losing our freedom. If you are not outraged that it is now considered bigotry to oppose gay marriage, then you need to examine your conscience and determine if you have the right to call yourself Christian.

Support Chick-fil-A with your dollars and words!

Don’t Blame Guns! Blame Hollywood!

07/21/2012

When I woke up Friday morning and saw the tragic and shocking news about the movie theater shooting, one of my first thoughts was that liberals would use this–as they do all such shootings–as a justification for renewed calls for gun control.

(Well, this is one way to bury the fast and the furious scandal–about guns and government. Not that it was getting much media coverage per my previous post.)

Anyway, one person allegedly re-enacted a violent scene inspired by Batman and similar movies.

I don’t see this as being about guns. In fact, it is about an overload of our senses with disturbing images.

While the vast majority will never become unhinged enough to shoot up a theater filled with innocent people, violent and sexual images with which we are constantly bombarded have an effect on us as individuals and as a society.

(Source: beyondhollywood.com)

The media give us wrong ideas about crime and violence. I have read that back in the day one could never get away with a crime on TV. I have watched enough Alfred Hitchcock re-runs from the 1950s to know that is true. The bad guy always got caught. Today many times the bad guy does not get caught and lives out the dreams we have been taught to want. In fact, good people doing bad things for supposedly good reasons is a common theme today. Getting away with it is a goal and it’s only wrong if one gets caught is a typical mindset.

And it is not just violence but sex. Somehow I don’t think aberrant sexual behavior such as threesomes was all that mainstream until glamorized by Hollywood. People see and they imitate. They think it is normal if everyone else is doing it.

But not everyone else is or was doing it. Media convinces us that the images are mainstream when it is simply not the case.

I just read about a study where girls as young as six years old see themselves as sexual objects. And teens are more likely to have sex based on what they see depicted in the movies according to another study.

In fact, the teens wanted to re-enact sexy scenes. No one wants to re-enact the results of reckless sex: taking penicillin for STDs, feeling crushed after one’s significant other uses then dumps them, facing an unexpected pregnancy.

Just as seeing sex on the screen can impact us, surely images of violence, with no repercussions, have the same effect. We see people get slaughtered in big budget films and cheer. But each person is a human being made in the image and likeness of God and should not be considered disposable.

But then again we are a society filled with narcissistic and selfish people who abort unplanned babies and hurry to off grandma when she is hanging on too long. We don’t value people the way we should.

And yet when one lone nut slaughters the innocent, we are shocked and scandalized. Perhaps we should examine what we tolerate and encourage as a society and we should be more mindful of the media we consume that impacts our very souls to our detriment.

Not All Rich People Are the Same

07/18/2012

President Barack Obama has been attacking Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for being really rich. Yet not as rich as some of Bam’s biggest supporters!

Mitt is loaded and that is an American success story. He is a self-made man. We’d all like to be that successful.

He is not an obnoxious rich man. He may like the finer things but he does not want to tell us how to live.

Billionaire Mike Bloomberg, on the other hand, is the kind of wealthy individual we should disdain. He is an elitist of the worst kind. He is opposed to salt, sugar, cigarettes and then some.

If he does not think something is good for us, he will seek to ban it. He decides. No free will. Government knows best.

Obama has that attitude problem even if he is not super-rich. Although, in this time of alleged austerity, he is living like he is one of the wealthiest Americans. His family goes on vacation frequently from Spain to Martha’s Vineyard. He likes to golf, which is a rich man’s hobby.

(Source: gopusa.com)

No one thinks he is an elitist snob because he lives like a wealthy person. But he does live like he is Bill Gates or Donald Trump. He can have anything he wants plus he hangs out with celebrities.

The problem with the Bloombergs and Obamas of the world–rich elites and elites who live like they are rich–is they think they know better than the average man who works hard just to pay his taxes and get by.

The elitists don’t know better; they just think they do. And men like Mitt know that. Just because a man is rich does not mean he is a bad or evil person. Or an elitist.

The American dream is to go from rags to riches. Yet nowadays people hate the rich unless they are celebrities; it is merely petty jealousy. The rich serve a purpose; they create jobs, for example, and help the economy with their purchases. They also show us what we can do with hard work, persistence and hope.

But Obama and Bloomberg and their ilk want us to know our place. They want to tell us how to live and what to do and be and how much we should eat and drink and exercise.

Others like Romney want to set an example of how we can live the American dream. So we should differentiate between those who live their dreams and those who tell us what to think and feel.

Defeat Obama? Pray–and Change Yourself!

07/15/2012

Those of us who love America and want to see her restored to her former glory oppose the re-election of President Barack Obama.

Despite his alleged accomplishments, I opposed the re-election of President Bill Clinton. Not only was his agenda wrong for America, his personal behavior was contemptible. The only reason he had any accomplishments was that he was riding the wave of President Reagan’s economic boom and his behaviors led to a Republican Revolution bringing in a Congress that passed good legislation such as welfare reform and the Defense of Marriage Act.

That Congress was smart enough to impeach him for his scandalous actions although he was unfortunately not removed from office.

At least his time was marked by economic prosperity and an awareness by the people that he was an immoral man.

Obama has neither.

Despite scandals such as fast and furious, Obama has kept his reputation as a good man. Despite his agenda attacking the Catholic Church, the Constitution, the rule of law, among others, he has not been exposed for what he is. The media protect him. The elites exalt him.

Average Americans seem unfazed by the fact he has not made any inroads into restoring American prosperity. Those that want him re-elected still blame George Bush so as to protect their messiah.

So for those of us who see that Obama’s agenda is bad for America, we need to not just vote for Mitt Romney, we have to fight the good fight.

We have to pray. And repent.

The reason that a man like Obama could be elected to the highest office in the land despite his disdain for the nation that gave him so many opportunities is that we are not living as we should.

If we were educated in American history, trained in civics, and paid attention to the world instead of our mechanical devices, we would never have elected a man who does not value our constitutional form of government but is working to turn us into a European-style socialist state.

And we would not be more interested in our sex lives, our celebrity role models and our hybrid cars if we were decent people ourselves. We were once a nation of God-fearing, self-disciplined, self-sufficient, honorable people who worked hard and lived lives of virtue.

Now we care more about two men getting married and getting free contraception so we can act out perversions from Fifty Shades of Grey.

To paraphrase Thomas Jefferson, people without religion and virtue cannot self-govern. By letting ourselves become decadent and self-centered, we have allowed ourselves to be taken over by government bureaucrats, who are more than happy to tell us how to live. In exchange for cradle-to-grave freebies, we have willingly handed over our freedom.

For those who want to live like this, it is un-American. And those of us who love America and reject the loss of liberty have to suffer. We want America back. But unless we pray and repent in our own lives, we will continue to sink into socialism. The last great hope will be eclipsed by the more disciplined Muslims and Chinese.

There is so much against us. America has given up virtue and we must embrace it again. We must pray, begging God’s forgiveness for everything from killing the unborn to treating sodomy as a constitutional right.

If you are living an immoral life or a dependent one, change it. Put your children before your own needs. And feed your children yourself; don’t depend on the government. Those freebies are actually not free; the cost of them is your liberty and that of your children.

It is time for us to really be Americans. There are only a few months until the election. If Obama is re-elected, then the American dream is over. We each have the opportunity to prevent that and to try to get America back on track.

Are you American enough to play your part?

Intolerance for Conservatives

07/12/2012

I am so sick of hearing that conservatives are intolerant. And closed-minded. And bigoted.

The truth is, conservatives are the ones who suffer at the hands of the Intolerant also known as liberals. And hypocrites.

Cases in point:

Jane Pitt, about whom I recently posted, told the truth in a letter to the editor, a time-honored American tradition. She expressed her opinion that Christians have a moral obligation to oppose President Obama by voting for Republican Mitt Romney.

I knew this would be a big story because her son is one of the biggest liberals in Hollywood. I did not anticipate that she would receive death threats. Imagine death threats for writing a letter to the editor?

And for saying something as non-controversial as vote for Romney!

Liberals always act like they are aggrieved and victimized. Yet they can say anything they want without fear of retribution or criticism, let alone death threats and other forms of intimidation.

Thankfully actor and almost in-law Jon Voight defended her.

It is not just innocent, elderly women who are attacked. Mitt Romney was brave enough to speak before the NAACP even though he knows that blacks overwhelmingly favor Democrats and President Obama.

(Source: thegrio.com)

He delivered a speech that was interrupted by boos, especially when he expressed his intention to repeal Obamacare.

One can disagree with the speaker but one should hear him out, not try to drown him out with boos. It is positively un-American what the audience did.

And if it had been reversed, the media would have howled at the so-called racism! The incivility! The bigotry!

When Mitt is the one booed, it is what he deserves according to liberals.

The man should be allowed to share his ideas. We don’t have to agree with each other but we should hear each other out.

The point is liberals are intolerant of conservatives while insisting we are intolerant of them. Hogwash!

If you are conservative, speak up despite the ridicule and disdain you face. We need to be brave and to speak while we are still allowed.

May God Bless Jane Pitt!

07/06/2012

Jane Pitt is the antithesis of her celebrity son. Brad Pitt does not believe in God. He supports public funding of embryonic stem cell research and gay marriage. He left his wife for another woman.

He has been blessed with looks and talent if not intelligence. Yet he has the nerve to be a mindless liberal who wants to ruin the country and the world. But it is okay because he loves the poor! He lives in a mansion or two, but does he like to build houses for the underprivileged! The taxpayers should foot the bill but he will promote the cause!

(Source: eurweb.com)

Unlike her flighty superstar son, Jane Pitt believes in God, has morals and has the ability to reason. I have wondered how someone like her could produce him, but I know she made my day with the following letter that speaks for itself:

I have given much thought to Richard Stoecker’s letter…. I am also a Christian and differ with the Mormon religion.

But I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.

Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.

I hope all Christians give their vote prayerful consideration because voting is a sacred privilege and a serious responsibility.

I could not make the argument better myself.

This is a good conservative and American who recognizes that President Obama is detrimental to this nation and we must vote for the one man who has a chance to defeat him and set America back on the right course. Yes, it is Mitt Romney. And yes he is a Mormon.

I would rather a Mormon than a secularist atheist or a Muslim who denies it. What is important is the man’s faith and character. While Romney does not share my faith or Jane’s, he is a believer and can be trusted more so than someone whose religion cannot even be discerned by words or actions.

Whatever Romney’s shortcomings, he has committed himself to being a pro-life and pro-traditional marriage candidate. Obama, on the other hand, has made it clear that he is an ardent supporter of abortion and now same-sex marriage.

As Christians, we must oppose these evils. Jane gets it. Obama does not.

We who understand our faith and truly believe must vote in accord with well-informed consciences.

Jane deserves praise for trying to open our eyes, knowing the controversy her opinions will cause due to the notoriety of her son. I wish God’s blessings on her for her bravery and lack of fear in telling the truth.

How Free Are We This Independence Day?

07/02/2012

Like most summer holidays, the Fourth of July has become a day off from work, a time to vacation and barbecue and not a time to reflect on the precious freedom we take for granted.

America has been America for well over 200 years–longer than the Pax Romana–and we assume it will always stay that way. But that is not the case. Our Founders fought and sometimes died for our liberty. Up until recent generations, it was a birthright that had meaning and was taken seriously by civic-minded Americans.

But in a nation that is more interested in Snooki than in what our government is doing, we are at high risk of losing our freedom and don’t even know it.

(Source: bff.tv)

How can we call ourselves free when we are a nation increasingly dependent on the government–whether it is for Food Stamps, meals in the public schools, welfare, government healthcare, etc.?

No one said freedom is easy, but we are not free when we are dependent. Just like we threw off the British, we cannot be free unless we throw off government dependence and become responsible, self-sufficient people again. If we run into hard times, that is what charity is for, not the government. The federal government should do what it is constitutionally obligated to do–primarily provide for the national defense which includes enforcing the borders.

That does not interest President Obama and his Democrats. Yet going outside the Constitution to enlarge their power is precisely what occupies their time. Obamacare is a perfect example.

There is nothing in the Constitution that mandates, let alone permits, the government to manage the health of the people and provide healthcare for all.

Even worse is when the federal government, which is required to uphold the law, violates it by attempts to abrogate our precious Bill of Rights. The HHS mandate, set to go into effect next month, seeks to compel religious institutions to violate their beliefs by providing insurance that pays for contraception and sterilization. These acts violate, for example, Catholic beliefs. The Church is suing but she should not have to do so. The government should be respecting the First Amendment, not trying to tear it down.

How did we go from a nation of laws led by George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson and more recently by the great patriot Ronald Reagan, to a nation run by President Obama and former Speaker Pelosi? There are many causes. For the last couple of generations, we the people have gotten soft, not interested in learning our proud, glorious history. Even if we wanted to, our children have been subject to public education where America was demonized and the enemy, such as Militant Islam, has been celebrated in the name of multiculturalism. Along those lines, sound immigration policy has been tossed out the window with illegals pouring in even as the nation is on the verge of bankruptcy and its own citizens are facing high rates of unemployment.

(Source: sodahead.com)

In addition, while claiming sexual freedom over the last fifty years, we have as a nation become enslaved by our sexual organs. We have let our families fall apart, put our own perceived welfare ahead of our children, and when convenient, we have killed them in the womb. If one’s top priority is one’s orgasm, one is not going to be able to focus on preserving the greatest nation in the world. For if America fails and becomes like Europe, where can we go? There is no other shining city on a hill.

So to be truly free, we need personal responsibility and self-control. We need to live within our means and not depend on the government. We have to elect leaders that understand that our freedom is perilously close to being lost. And know that we will have crumbled from within, not at the hands of external enemies. But those enemies would be happy to pounce and take advantage of us as we fall.

Our leaders are not performing their sworn duties–they are undermining the idea of America. Anyone in office that does not do everything in his power to keep America free must be thrown out of office in a few short months during the next big election. We need to vote for patriots who understand the situation is dire and the hour is late.

But there is still some time. I hope we can think about this on Independence Day since it could be out last one to have any meaning if we do not get this country on the right track.
